J118M MAPLE BASEBALL BAT HANDLE 1.18" DIAMETER/ 2.5" BARREL.
The thick handle of 1.18" pulls the center of gravity closer to the batters hands. The handle allows for a smoother more "level swing." The thick handle prevents the bat from 'WOBBLING' or twisting loosely in the grip upon contact preventing hand turnover.
In Baseball mechanics, a thinner handle allows writs to roll over quickly, perfect for the homerun/power hitter but it frequently leads to rolling over into weak ground balls for the contact hitters.
The thick handle naturally slows down wrist rollover forcing the hitter to keep the bat head flat through the hitting zone longer and promoting a palm up-palm down contact position.
The mass of the 1.18" handle acts as a natural shock absorber less squeezing tension from the forearm and secure solid hold reducing hand fatigue.
